I Love this book
Wow, I am simply floored by this incredible collection of poetry. It speaks to me on so many different levels. The images are so tangible and real life. It is hard to pick just one poem and call it my favorite. I cannot believe that one person can have so much talent. I reccomend this book to everyone who loves to read poetry. I will be reading this over and over again for many years to come. I have purchased copies for several friends who also love this book.

British Logistics on the Western Front
Published in Hardcover by Praeger Publishers (January, 1998)
Author: Ian Malcolm Brown
Average review score:

Simply the best
Many moons and stars have I seen. Few of them have been planets. Rarely have I felt like stout Cortez.

But this is a brilliant book.

It will not give you the information to create a tactical game of logistics on the western front. Should you wish to do that, still apply for the original sources.

But, should you wish to have an in depth analysis of how it worked, why it failed, how it was fixed, just how flexible in it's choice of bods the establishment was, how it won, lost again (March 1918 by now) and won, finally to fall over a bit once it was all (hopefully) over, then read this book.

It lacks the plot of a thriller but makes up for it with a continuous theme - the cold facts of Kiplng's six honest serving men, the what, why and when, and how and who and where.

I am very impressed with this book. It is not all that I wanted when I bought it from the title alone; it is however more than I could reasonably have expected.

A Brown & Sharpe catalogue collection, 1868, 1887, 1899
Published in Unknown Binding by Astragal Press (April, 1997)
Average review score:

A Brown & Sharpe Catalog Collection, 1868 to 1899
If you're a collector of early Brown & Sharpe machinist's tools this book is a must have--you can't tell the players without a program. The very early catalogs are scarce and expenisve and this volume puts three of the earliest in your hands.

The book would be even better if it contained more editorial material, such as photos of surviving examples, first and last production dates for various tools, variations during production life, etc. The book, however, is pretty much a reproduction of the three catalogs plus a brief introductory essay. But it does that very well.

My only complaint: Sometimes the catalog descriptions refer another page in the catalog which is not contained in the book, and I found the book page numbers and individual catalog page numbers confusing. But this is a minor flaw in an excellent reference.

Brown & Sharpe collectors will keep this on the nightstand for a good long while.

wonderfull for children
I was a child in Rev. Jordan's church in Colorado Springs, when he wrote and compiled the sermons in the book. We could hardly wait to see what he would take out of his brown bag each Sunday. I was in junior high school I think, when he was convinced to whrite these sermons in to a book . They are a wonderfull resource for anyone doing childrens sermon. Mary L. Anderson's ilistrations are wonderful as well, she was a lovely lady.

Brown Bag Success : Making Healthy Lunches Your Kids Won't Trade
Published in Paperback by John Wiley & Sons (September, 1997)
Authors: Sandra K. Nissenberg and Barbara N. Pearl
Average review score:

fabulous find!
This book is part cookbook, part menu guide, part nutritionist, and completely a fabulous find. The book is a great resource for parents who don't think they can make one more peanut butter sandwich. There are great ideas that would please any taste buds, and there are definitely picky ones at my house! There are time saving tips included, as well as a list of items to have on hand to make packing those lunches a little easier. Two of my childrens favorite items are: Flour tortillas with melted cheddar cheese in between, cooled and cut into triangle wedges; and a "sandwich" with cheese and ham rolled and cut into pinwheels! I cannot write enough positive things about this book. It is FAB!

Chuck Berry Demystified
Great Book. Very informative. A thorough body of research was completed in order to have this book published. I thought I knew all about Chuck Berry until I read this book. I would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of Chuck's. The book is balanced and pulls no punches. No wonder the biography is unauthorized. It contains information that is both provoctive and endearing.

Brown Girl in the Ring: An Anthology of Song Games from the Eastern Caribbean
Published in Hardcover by Pantheon Books (September, 1997)
Authors: Alan Lomax, J. D. Elder, and Bess Lomax Hawes
Average review score:

Valuable Resource
This book is an invaluable collection of Caribbean rings games, documenting traditions that are slowing fading away under the crush of North American pop culture. It is a cherished resource for my wife, who grew up in Dominica playing many of these games and now teaches them as part of her dance classes in Ohio. Anyone who buys this book must also get the companion CD from Rounder Records.
